Capsule Minimalist Wallet Review

About a month ago, the time had come to get a new wallet. I was looking for something straightforward with a small footprint, and I decided on the Capsule Minimalist wallet.

At the time, I had been using a bulky thing I found at fossil which made up the majority of the size. Thing is – I never really carry cash, so it was a bit unnecessary.

You can see the difference in sizing in both wallets pretty clearly here.

The first thing I noticed was the detail they put into the packaging.

Inside was a mission statement from the designer.

I was getting a little bit bored of brown after the last couple of wallets being the same color, so I opted for the Blueprint. It looks like it's now no longer available, but this Blackstone has a very similar design.

It’s about the same height and width of my last wallet, but much much thinner.

It has a central pocket on the top, as well as a slot on the front to hold an easily accessible card.

The inner pocket of the wallet was pretty stiff for the first couple weeks but eventually stretched out enough where it wasn’t a pain removing cards.

The minimalist name suits it very well. As you can tell, there isn’t much regarding flourishes on the product. The texture of the saffiano leather is unique in itself as feels nice in hand.

The back side has a clip that holds a couple of bills (even big Canadian bills) and is embossed with the Capsule logo.

The following is what I generally carry – my ID, a couple of payment cards, and my car2go card.

Here is what the inner pocket looks like with five cards. I only have 4 in the pocket now, with my credit card in the front slot.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m pleased with the wallet. It’s forcing me to carry only the bare minimum and allows me to carry it in my front pocket, or my back pocket without noticing it too much.
