⚡️Just voted, ‘Most Eloquent Speaker’ by Wallpaper* Magazine This #WiFispeaker by Dutch brand @Sound.Aesthetics was inspired by the ancient Greek philosophy that sees art, beauty & function, not as separate pursuits, but deeply intertwined. And so, award-winning SA-born industrial designer, Albert de Graaf, spent a long time solving this puzzle of complexity, to create something elegantly simple. Housed within a sleek #minimalist enclosure is a wireless speaker capable of true high-fidelity sound. This European-made speaker works great on its own, but can be grouped together wirelessly for stereo separation. The electronics are #upgradable for a longer life and different units can be combined using a #modular system — including a complementary acoustic-treatment system — for larger rooms. The artwork-panels satisfy intellectually with their superb #graphic designs and interesting backstories. Their interchangeable nature will keep the look fresh, and further differentiates these objects from other throw-away electronics. #SoundAesthetics — Follow @minimalgoods_ for daily design inspiration #speakers #design #gooddesign

View InstagramDear is a bio sensor embedded headphone that monitors and protects the listener’s hearing, designed for the Korean brand Linkface. Targeting gradeschoolers and young teens, the noise canceling headphone guides a healthy listening behavior in order to minimize the risk of hearing loss. Introducing a new technology into a familiar product category, the design contains an iconic identity that makes the technology instantly recognizable. The headphone’s overall design uses minimal shapes, soft colored plastics, and fabrics supplied by Kvadrat to provide a comfortable, friendly, and premium experience. However, the faded neon silicone bio sensors with precise logo and typography create a strong contrast to the mostly quiet design, acting as a fashionable accent and giving the product a unique presence. Also, the design solves the ergonomics while having the most effective sensor position and layout. Dear has received the CES 2020 Innovation Award and has been exhibited in CES 2020 (Consumer Electronics Show). —

View InstagramBEOSOUND EMERGE is a super slim, sculptural speaker with a small footprint that belies its impressive acoustic output. It was designed to sit seamlessly on a shelf in the home alongside domestic objects. In keeping with the domestic scale of the speaker, the material palette is informed by residential interiors. Taking inspiration from the format of a book on a shelf, it features premium knitted textiles and crafted aluminium on its spine and is wrapped in a jacket of natural timber or black polymer. The tapered silhouette accentuates the slim nature of the speaker and reduces reverberation, while the architectural opening on the rear of the speaker – which forms both the air inlet and cable management system – ensures it is desirable from every angle. To ensure a rich, room-filling sound, LAYER worked in close collaboration with the Bang & Olufsen “tonmeisters” throughout the design process. Design by @layer_design
